Spring Roll Sale a Success!

If you attended church this past Sunday, July 21st, you had the awesome opportunity to purchase authentic Thai Spring Rolls from our missionaries!  These vegetarian spring rolls were a hit!  Not only did we sell over 200 hot spring rolls on Sunday, but orders were taken for an additional 250 to be delivered in August.

6 Missionaries Traveling to Thailand this September, 2013

A team of 6 short term missionaries from BLC are actively preparing for a  2 week trip to Thailand.  On our trip we will serving the full time missionaries stationed in Bangkok who are with Lutheran Hour Ministries International.  Our assignments will include traveling to a school in Nakon Pathom (38 miles west of Bangkok) to hold “Conversational English” classes for 2 days.  Then, we will fly north to Nong Khai where we will conduct an English program for Government officials.  We will also visit other areas near Bangkok where God’s people are serving him and spreading his word. 

All of this is being planned according to God’s will and his calling.  We will be sharing his love and joy to those on the other side of the world who have never heard his son’s name, Jesus.  Over 95% of the people in Thailand are Buddhist and under 2% are Christian.  By his grace and through his Holy Spirit, we prayerfully ask that in meeting and connecting with the Thai people, they will learn to know Christ and spread God’s word.  If only a seed is planted though meeting us we will begin a good work.  There are local churches in the area that will water and grow the seeds we plant. 

As we continue to prepare for our trip, we ask most of all that you would commit to praying for the team.  Your prayers are much appreciated for our preparations prior to the trip as well as while we are away.  We also appreciate the financial support that Brookfield Lutheran Church is providing as well as  any financial support that you may have sent to individual members.
